UFC 98 is fast approaching (May 23, 2008) and there are some great lines to take advantage of on this card. We are going to focus on the three fights where I think there is money to be made. Today’s fight is…
Sean Sherk (-280) against Frankie Edgar. This is your classic wrestler matchup. But as history as proven nobody wrestles better than Sean Sherk or has more cardio. He’s disposed of Tyson Griffin showing improved standup and has compiled a record of 33 wins and 3 loses while fighting a great majority of his fights at 170 pounds.
Now I love Frankie Edgar, but this matchup is terrible for him. He showed to have a tough time with pure wrestlers when Gray Maynard destroyed him in a 3 round decision. Some would argue though he did beat Tyson Griffin in a more spectacular fashion than Sean Sherk did, but I think that fight was a fluke as time was running down as Griffin had sunk in a nasty leg bar to submit Edgar. Take the line here on Sean Sherk and make sure to bet a lot of money. This one is a lock.

The Mets are read hot winning 8 in a row. Their ace is on the mound at home and Chipper Jones is not in the lineup for the Braves. All of this boads together for a nice play on the Mets by 1.5 runs or more. Right now the line is at +115 and to me that is one heck of a deal considering who is on the mound for the mets and who is not in the lineup for the Atlanta Braves.
Let’s get back on the winning track with the Mets -1.5 over the Atlanta Braves.

LineJunkie has been hot lately. We’ve won 3 in a row and have gone 3 for our last 5. So jump on the bandwagon while its hot and reep the benefits.
Free pick of the day today is the Los Angeles Dodgers and Jeff Weaver over Tim Lincecum and his San Francisco Giants. Right now Jeff Weaver is +130 on bodog which is a quite interesting considering the game is in Los Angeles. My prediction here is both pitchers pitch well, few runs are scored and then the bullpens come in. The Giants bullpen is notorious for costing Lincecum wins and I do not think this will be an exception.
Go Dodgers.

The winning streak continues….
This skid that dodgers are on I do not buy into it. The put up a ton of runs on the nationals and the bullpen imploded for the loss Thursday night. Last night Zito and the Buzzsaw battled back and forth with the Giants came out on top.
Today at 12:30 it will be a different story. The Dodgers are putting young Stults on the mound against Jonathan Sanchez. Sanchez has a ton of control problems walking nearly as many as he strikes out. Bases runners like that with the Dodgers lineup are not a smart play.

The NBA Playoffs continue tonight as the Orlando Magic take on the Boston Celtics at home in Game 3. Orlando will be at full strength tonight and the Magic have only lost once at home this post season. I think the Magic come out fired up and ready to shoot the lights out. Expect Dwight to dominate the paint and Magic to win by at least 8.

Matt Cain is on the mound today for the San Francisco Giants in Coors Field. The Colorado Rockies are throwing Jason Marquis who has been red hot 4-1 and pitching nearly a run under his career average of 4.52.
I think the Giants are looking to rebound after the Big Unit wet the bed last night and I see this game being a more of a 4 to 2 Giants win. Right now the Giants are the underdog at +131 and there is good money to be made.
Free pick of the day is the San Francisco Giants.

Today’s free pick winner is the Boston Red Sox at home over Carl Pavano and the Cleveland Indians.
Masteron is on the mound for the Red Sox today. Posting a near 3 to 1 strikeouts to walk ratio along with not being a guy who used to date Alyssa Milano. See Carl Pavano hasn’t been the same since his trist with Alyssa. He signed a huge deal with the Yankees, hasn’t had a decent era since before we started a war with Iraq and this year he has been no exception. 7.46era, he’s pitching on the road and the Red Sox though not at full strength (missing Jacoby and Youkolis), I think will still win this easyily.

The free pick of the day today is the St. Louis Cardinals moneyline over the Philadelphia Phillies. Adam Wainwright takes the mound going against Brett Myers. Wainwright on the season has been decent at best posting a 3 and 0 record in 5 starts with an era of 2.76.
However the reason why I say take the Cardinals this week is simple…Brett Myers. He’s susceptible to the long ball and Puljos may do just that. Myers is current 1 and 2 in the league and his ERA is just a few points shy of 5.00.
The over under on this game is 8.5 with bodog showing more money being placed on the over. I agree with them here, both offenses are pretty high powered and Myers is due for another terrible start.
Take the Cardinals moneyline kids. Until next time.
